In many industries, companies encounter challenges where human interpretation of data is time-consuming or even unfeasible. In such situations, we see an opportunity to leverage AI, especially when traditional software logic falls short. Traditional software functions in a deterministic way, where each step from input to output must be explicitly described. With AI, it’s different: the system learns independently from large amounts of data, allowing it to handle more complex, less predictable patterns effectively.
One of the most common applications of AI is recognizing patterns in visual data, such as camera images. Traditionally, it's almost impossible to analyze millions of pixels in an image quickly with classical software, but with AI models, a system can independently detect or classify objects. For example, we have enhanced the videostitcher – which includes a Jetson Nano module – with object detection. We accomplished this with an existing AI model, serving as an example of integrating AI into an (existing) product.
The strength of Core-Vision's approach lies in its ability to integrate AI deeper into embedded systems than simply running a standard AI model. For example, the outcome of object detection can be used as input for other parts of a system. Think of a check on whether a person crosses a specific boundary line. This opens endless possibilities that can be tailored to the specific needs of our clients.
